Information disclosure becomes the "new normal" of enterprises


Hu Kehua said that in the early stage of the development of social responsibility of Chinese textile and clothing enterprises, they only focused on labor, wages, working hours, accommodation conditions and labor protection. With the strengthening of public awareness of environmental protection, the advent of ISO26000 standard, and the promotion of government and industry policies and measures on pollution prevention, circular economy, and energy conservation and emission reduction, Chinese textile and clothing enterprises are facing new requirements for sustainable development.


Hu Kehua said that the current work of social responsibility is to help enterprises achieve sustainable development, not just to let enterprises assume social responsibility, or just to release a social responsibility report. Hu Kehua also elaborated on the relationship between social responsibility and sustainable development. He said that social responsibility is a means and sustainable development is the goal.


If enterprises want to achieve sustainable development, they must assume social responsibility. To assume social responsibility, the transparency of corporate social responsibility information disclosure and the participation of stakeholders are essential. 

The promotion of industrialization and informatization to the textile industry and the socialization of enterprises, as well as the development of We Media, will make enterprises have to think about how to communicate, dialogue and cooperate with stakeholders.


With the continuous deepening of China's economic system reform, the position of enterprises as market subjects is gradually being strengthened, and the disclosure of social responsibility information is becoming the "new normal" of enterprises. He said that we hope to show industry management and enterprise management in an open and transparent way through information disclosure; On the other hand, it promotes the adjustment and transformation of enterprises, so as to change the current passive attitude towards suppliers and stakeholders.


Stakeholder interaction promotes sustainable development of enterprises


Following the great success of the first "Stakeholder Seminar on Harmful Chemicals in Textile Industry" jointly held by China Textile Industry Federation (CNTAC) and ZDHC (Zero Emission Brand Federation of Harmful Chemicals) in August 2013, the second joint seminar on harmful chemicals will be held in Shanghai on October 23 this year. This seminar will report on the progress of the zero emission project of hazardous chemicals, introduce MRSL (List of Production Restricted Substances) and some actions of the industry. At the same time, relevant groups will be organized to discuss chemicals/MRSL, PRTR (pollutant transfer and registration), transparency and disclosure of information, training and audit.


Hu Kehua said that the convening of the seminar for stakeholders of harmful chemicals in the textile industry was an in-depth interaction between Chinese manufacturers and international brands, that is, between stakeholders in the supply chain.

The "Responsible Production" tag logo enables ^ enterprises to gain unique business awareness


"Responsible Production" is a high-end collective brand of Chinese textile and garment enterprises committed to building corporate social responsibility capacity and information disclosure in recent years. The goal is to introduce textile and clothing enterprises to the global supply chain, transfer their social responsibility concept to the investment, production, circulation, consumption and other links in the value chain, and guide all stakeholders in the supply chain to not only focus on their products but also further identify with their responsibility value.


The products selected as "responsible production" enterprises are all from Chinese textile and clothing enterprises with good social responsibility performance, which conform to the three themes of people-oriented (legal employment, harmonious labor relations, occupational health and safety, etc.), green production (energy conservation, water conservation, emission reduction, low-carbon) and green products (using recyclable green materials, no harm to human body and environment, etc.), The tag of "responsible production" shall be attached.


Hu Kehua said that at the Shanghai Fabric Fair in October this year, the China Textile and Garment Industry Social Responsibility Office will still recommend enterprises that publish social responsibility reports and do a good job of sustainable development to the supply chain, provide labels for these enterprises, so that these enterprises can gain unique recognition in the market, and hope to encourage them from a commercial perspective, and encourage them to continue to improve on the path of social responsibility and sustainable development.


Responsible asset platform ^ social responsibility informatization


Hu Kehua also introduced the construction of the responsible asset platform, an important work for the release and promotion of social responsibility information.


The platform includes online social responsibility reporting system, stakeholder review feedback system, sustainable development labeling system and sustainable development supply chain application.


Online social responsibility reporting system: This system can realize the social responsibility reporting from offline to online. Hu Kehua introduced that in the past, enterprises released social responsibility reports in paper form. Now, enterprises are encouraged to release online social responsibility reports, hoping that more people who pay attention to enterprises can understand and support them. The customization of the electronic social responsibility report is convenient, fast, and easy to spread and interact. For example, the enterprise will get timely feedback on the opinions and suggestions of stakeholders.

The online social responsibility reporting system is divided into sustainable development input system (including three basic themes of sustainable development: economy, society and environment), report output system and report release system. The system can customize reports and is suitable for various terminals, including WeChat official account push and mobile client query.


Stakeholder comment feedback system: This system enables enterprises to interact with stakeholders, collect and count feedback.


Sustainable development label system: the system has developed the connotation of social responsibility from the previous focus on labor, wages, working hours and labor protection to the whole supply chain management, namely management system, society, environment, product sustainability and product innovation. The system can evaluate enterprises based on sustainable development report data, relevant external data collection, stakeholder qualification, stakeholder evaluation, statistics and sustainable development maturity model.


Sustainable development supply chain application: the system includes enterprise product life cycle and environmental footprint tracing, ZDHC zero emission tracing of hazardous chemicals, and pollution emission and transfer registration PRTR system.


Hu Kehua said that at present, the responsibility asset platform is in the development stage, which has realized data filling, comparison and result generation in terms of functions, and is expected to be put into use at the beginning of next year.


Hu Kehua believes that China's development of social responsibility is still at an early stage, there is still a big gap compared with developed countries, and there is still much work to do in the future.
